NDIM is associated with a number of corporate houses to offer extensive training to the practicing managers through well-designed Management Development Programmes (MDPs). These MDPs are generally of short duration, but are rigorous. While some programmes are technique oriented, others emphasize on problem-solving and decision-making skills. These MDPs are one of the key tools to develop a comprehensive symbiotic relationship with the Industry. Also, the faculties are encouraged to take up consultancy assignments with corporate houses of different levels.

As a part of continuing education programmes, the institute conducts in-house and need- specific training programmes of short duration on management related themes. For all around development of faculties and for updating their knowledge, frequent FDPs from different areas of academics are organised at the Institute. The institute shares its expertise with industry, public organizations and other organizations by providing consultancy services on a regular basis.
